Go therefore and make disciples of all nations
Matthew 28:19
King Jesus calls His Church to a singular purpose and mission to make disciples that make disciples. Jesus mandates His followers to worship, be a disciple, serve, but most of all, make disciples of Jesus. This mission is uniquely expressed through our four God given measures of success: Every disciple a disciple, every disciple a servant, every disciple a disciple maker, and every disciple a missionary. We believe faithfulness to join Jesus where he is already working is the key to making disciples of Jesus. We want to create an environment where discipleship is so deeply engrained in the culture that discipleship through relationship becomes ordinary not extraordinary.
Intentionally, we accomplish the mission of making disciples of Jesus through pouring our lives into our specific trainings: foundations training for new members and leadership development for maturing believers. These training are essential to maintain unity, understanding our mission, and developing disciples that make disciples. Jesus transforms the world through relationship. However, relationship is the most marred aspect of the human condition as a product of the fall of man. Therefore, we has developed a process to overcome the world and begin to be transforming agents for Jesus in our community and world.
Our leadership training model is simple, but a power way to multiply and be a part of the movement of God through a four step training that equips the people for ministry: Mentor training, Trainer training, Equipper training, and Coaches Training . The ministry of Jesus cannot be communicated without relationship, and mentoring provides the relational aspect necessary to build the Kingdom. Trainer training prepares followers of Christ for service of the King. Equipper Training prepares leaders to lead well with deeper content for the purpose of multiplying and mobilizing God's people. Finally, coaches training prepares the mentor, trainer, or equipper by providing access to a seasoned follower of Christ to ask and answer questions , receive counsel, and assist the new leader in their ministry.
Every member goes through our foundations class to promote unity, build up every believer, and answer any question a member might have before they get rooted in the activities of our church. However, we do not make disciples on potential but to those members who are living obedient lives to the bless the Lord. This training is a great tool for creating an environment for authentic relationship, providing a platform for understanding our specific God given mission, and creating a culture of discipleship that advances the Word of the Lord.
Maybe you feel you are not ready to lead but want to serve on mission. We actively participate in national missions. The First Baptist Church-Hoxie have adopted a small community outside of Lincoln called Airpark. This community is 30 miles from the nearest evangelical church and is in desperate need of the gospel of Christ. Our annual mission to Nebraska is a highlight and eye opening experience to the lostness that surrounds us. Pray, give, and join us as we bring hope to Nebraska. Hope Nebraska!
